Postdoctoral Researcher
The Burress Lab is not currently recruiting a postdoctoral researcher. I am always interested in supporting proposals for fellowships such as the NSF prfb, please reach out if you are interested in writing a proposal to join my lab.
Prospective Graduate Students
I am currently recruiting a graduate student (Ph.D. or M.S.) to start Fall 2024. I am especially interested in prospective students interested in studying the (i) macroevolution and functional morphology of Neotropical cichlids and/or (ii) macroevolution of Appalachian salamanders. Prospective applicants are encouraged to review my Research and Publications pages as well as the Department of Biological Sciences webpage. The University of Alabama has rolling admission, but the 'priority deadline' is December 10. UA also tends to have a 'free application' week sometime in October or November. Students from underrepresented groups are especially encouraged to apply. Those interested in joining my lab should email their (i) curriculum vitae, (ii) a brief cover letter describing their research interests and experience, and (iii) names and contact information of two references to Dr. Edward Burress (edburress'at'ua'dot'edu). Please reach out with any questions.
Prospective Undergraduate Students
There are also opportunities for undergraduates to work in the lab. Interested students should contact me at the email above.
